About the school

Dear All,

We hope this message finds you well and in good health! Unfortunately, considering the global situation generated by the spread of the Coronavirus, we will have to cancel this year’s event, wishing you all the best, patience, advising you to act responsibly and wishing you to stay healthy!

We really hope to see all of you next year, in July, in Brasov, for spending quality time together, for discovering the beauty of Romania, its culture, language and civilisation and for enabling you to pursue your Romanian dream!

All the best,

The organising team

“Transilvania” University of Braşov and Your Romanian Language School release the 1st edition of Romanian Language, Culture and Civilisation Classes in one of the most spectacular cities in Romania, Braşov. The program is hosted by the Faculty of Letters, Mureşenilor House Museum, and Reduta Cultural Centre. Following a long tradition, The Romanian Language Summer School makes a comeback after a temporary break of one year, and continues the long line of 10 years of professionalism, dedication and success in teaching Romanian as a foreign language to expats. The same motivated organising team and the same teaching staff that have accompanied you along your previous endeavours of approaching the Romanian language are wating for you to come (back) to Brasov to (re)discover the beauty of a language and of a culture which have already  established a refined place within the Romanic family of languages and cultures.

Founded by the Teuton knights in 1211, Braşov (Corona, Kronstadt, Brassó) is a multicultural citadel which harmoniously combines Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture, a great deal of history, wonderful landscapes, lots of traditions, The First Romanian School, challenging legends and stories, beautiful and warm-hearted people, thus being the perfect place to discover Romanian culture and civilisation. Renowned not only as an important medieval trade centre, but also as a cultural and academic “fortress”, Braşov is also known as the place where the first spark of an anti-Communist uprising was lit in November 1987.
